Event Description:

In his role as European Commissioner responsible for industry and entrepreneurship, Vice President Antonio Tajani wants to ensure that European Industry and enterprises come out of the current economic crisis stronger and more competitive than before.

In that sense, helping EU companies and in particular SMEs to develop their activities within the EU and abroad and in parallel reinforcing industrial relations and strengthening the links of Enterprise policies with third countries is vital. For this reason, VP Tajani is organising missions for Growth in European and third countries. Through these missions, Europe can also better communicate and promote its policies.

This mission to Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar involves political and business meetings and discussions in areas of mutual interest in the fields of Enterprise & Industry policy but does not deal with specific trade policy issues. They will allow for high-level contacts between VP Tajani, EEAS (European External Action Service), European entrepreneurs and political authorities.

VP Tajani's Missions for Growth are followed by missions led by the SME Envoy concentrating specifically on SMEs. The ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk, an initiative of DG Enterprise, will be unveiled in Vietnam for the very first time during the Mission for Growth.
