Event Description:

For the 5th consecutive year, the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI)’s EU Projects Desk will be coordinating the EU Pavilion at the IGEM 2014 trade fair and exhibition. The EU Pavilion with the EU Business Lounge has constantly attracted VIPs and trade visitors from more than 60 countries. This year the EU pavilion will again be situated next to the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology & Water (KeTTHA’s Pavilion) and the main entrance of Hall 5 of the KLCC Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur closest to Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This year under the co-funded EU Project entitled "Support for European Business in South East Asia Markets - Malaysia Component" 2013-2018, all EU SMEs in Europe (who are not based in Malaysia) are entitled to 10% subsidy from the European Commission towards the costs of their booths. The ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk will be present on-site to provide EU SMEs present with free first-line advice and information on protecting your green products and services. A Helpdesk expert will give a presentation on IP strategies and important considerations for EU SMEs entering into any cleantech venture. Our expert aims to demonstrate that success in a cleantech based industry can be reached by a wise combination of science, business skills and proper intellectual property management. The presentation will analyze the relationship between clean technologies and IP regimes.
